Show Notes

Summers in Japan equal festival season, and after a 2-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, many events have restarted from this year. Matt, Ben, and Burke take a look at some of the popular festivals in Sapporo city that have already taken place or are currently underway, including the Yosakoi Festival, Hokkaido University Festival, and Hokkaido Shrine Festival. They discuss summer wear for festivals, a very unique festival in the popular hot spring town of Noboribetsu, strange festivals across Japan, and also Matt's recent live music gig and the not-so-friendly system that bands must use when they arrange shows at bars and other venues in Japan. Enjoy and please leave us a rating on Apple Podcasts if you have a spare minute!
